Happy 8 Months!
We got a high chair yesterday! Pa-Pa, (my father) bought us one, and with a ton of hassle from Walmart it finally arrived at our door. She loves it and for the first time in a loooong time, we decided to eat dinner at our little pub table. Best dinner I've had in a while and not because of the food.
Enjoy the pictures. Looking back on the day she was born till now, she's come a long way, and has changed so much.

Teething

Little girl is teething this week. Actually I think she's been teething for a few months now, and still she has nothing to show for it. I just put her down for a nap after giving her some Motrin and teething tablets. Everyone swears by the tablets, but I dont see a difference. Haha. In case you dont know what those are, they are homeopathic dissolvable tablets that you put under their tongue. Its supposed to get rid of the pain, but I personally dont think it helps. I use Orajel sparingly because I hear it can harden the gums and make it that much more difficult for the teeth to come through.
Better news is that she is practicing to walk! She loves to stand up, and when you hold her arms, she will take steps! I'll get a video and some pictures up of that real soon. My thinking is that we'll have a walker in just a couple months!

Krissi's Visit to Atlanta!
We loved having Krissi here! It was nice to have someone from home to talk to all the time, as well as an extra hand with the baby! I dont think I realized just how lonely I was during the day.
Anyway, even though it was rainy most of the time she was here, we still had a blast. Even if I did get a busted lip from Krissi punching me...HAHAHA, just kidding, it was from bella's leash. Thats another story you can ask me for later.

Mommy and Kaelah go to NY!
Kaelah and I just got back from a much needed trip to NY. Kaelah had never met her "Pa-Pa" (my father) or her Aunt Claire, as well as many other family and friends. I havent seen most of my family and friends for about a year and a half.
Here are just a few pictures. I wasnt as diligent with the camera as I would've liked to be, so I'm waiting for family and friends to send me what they took.

We had a great time, and she did so well on the airplane. She loved everyone she met, especially her Aunt Claire. I cant wait to go again!

Its been a while...
Its been a short while since I've last posted. So much to share with you all. Kaelah is 6 months now. Starting to babble a lot, and throwing a couple "da da's" into her baby talk, and she can sit up all on her own too. Theres a ton more she can do, but I thought I would get on with the pictures.
Kaelah was born through c-section, January 24, 2008 and was 9lbs 12oz.

She's such a joy, and such a good baby. Only cries if she really needs something, and even sleeps through the nite (for now, that is.)
Daddy and Kaelah about 5 months
Loving her carrots!
Here she is at 6 months

We just moved in June, from Beaufort to outside of Atlanta. Chris was officially discharged from the Marine Corps in July. He was offered this excellent job working on industrial sized HVAC units.
There's so much more to tell, but I'll save it for another time. I promise to update this more often!

Welcome Baby Kaelah
January 24, 2008 at 12:43pm, baby Kaelah Elizabeth Turner entered the world with a full head of hair, chubby little cheeks and the brightest eyes I've ever seen.
It by no means was an easy labor. Chris and I went in at about 1:30am on the 23rd for contractions that were approximately 4-6 minutes apart. We were at the hospital until about 5am only to be sent home because I wasnt dialated. This was not a fun day for me! I spent the next 24 hours bearing contractions so painfulthat no sitting, standing or laying position would take away the pain.
1:30am on the 24th, I couldnt take it anymore, so, back we go to the hospital...
Finally, 4cm dialated! I had to wait about 2 hours for a room, but at least I was being admitted! As soon as I had my room, it was only minutes that I had to wait for the anesthesiologist to give me an epidural. No more pain!
I progressed to 6cm in about 2 hours, and at that time the doctor broke my water. I then quickly went to 9cm where I stayed for about 3 more hours. The doctor gave me the choice of waiting until I progress to 10cm, or to go ahead with the c-section. I chose to have the c-section not only because I wanted my little girl out, (after her being 9 days late--I was ready!) but I also knew that my pelvis was small, and there was a chance I would need a c-section anyway. So away we went.
Being in the OR was very overwhelming. I had no clue what to expect, so when they layed me down on the table and strapped my arms in, I started to cry and get scared. Chris wasnt alowed to come in until right before I was cut open.
I dont remember much, but I do remember hearing her cry! Such an awesome feeling. The doctor started to stich me up, and thats when I could feel the pain. My epideral wore off! Not fun at all. Apparently I was supposed to be given more pain medication, but it was missed somehow. I spent about an hour and a half in recovery while the nurses tried to get my pain under control.
I wasnt able to hold Kaelah until about 4 hours after she was born because my pain was unbearable. But finally holding her made all the pain go away and everything worth it.
As for the rest of recovery, Chris was amazing and helped out so much, and is such a great daddy. I had some intestinal problems, and was in pain for about 6 weeks, but I'm all better, and doing great. Kaelah is gaining weight and growing like a weed and couldnt be healthier!

Mark your calendars!
I hope you all have been doing well! As you know, I just hit 4o weeks on January 15. We just had a visit with the doctor on Thursday, (1/17) and we were told that I still wasnt dialated. We were also told that I have a small pelvic arch, and that I may have to have a c-section. I was promised, however, that we'd get all the chances we could to have a natural birth.
Soooo, with that said, January 25 at 5pm we'll be heading into the hospital to be induced! The doctor said, if I'm not dialated enough within 24 hours, they'll do a c-section, so either way, we'll have little baby Kaelah on January 26, 2008...Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!
Enjoy the pictures of the ultrasounds. I dont know how many of you have seen them. The one's that look like she's a little peanut were taken right around 9 weeks. The ones of her more developed were right around 20 weeks...
Anyway, we hope to keep this updated regularly, whether its Chris or myself doing the updating...Enjoy!
